Privacy Policy

Overview
Chroniques d'Avalys is a strategy and kingdom-management game developed by WobbleBot Studio. This privacy policy explains how we handle your data.
This app shows advertisements only when you ask for one. There are no
banners and no interstitials: the only ads are optional reward videos that you start by
tapping an offer yourself. The app also offers optional in-app purchases, handled
entirely by Google Play: we never receive, see or store any payment detail.
GDPR Compliance (European Users)
For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), we comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
- Advertising consent: Before any ad is loaded, we show you Google's
consent form (the User Messaging Platform). Nothing is requested from the ad network
until you have answered it, and you can reopen that form at any time from the in-game
menu, under Settings (see "Reward video advertising" below)
- Usage analytics: We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand
how the game is played (see "Usage analytics" below)
- Optional cloud features: Google Sign-In, cloud save and the friends panel are optional and require explicit user action
- Right to deletion: You can delete all your data at any time (see "Your Rights" section below)
- Data portability: Your game progress is stored locally; if you sign in with Google, it can be synced to your Google account
Data Collection
Data stored locally on your device
- Game progress (map exploration, buildings placed, resources, completed quests)
- Capital level and town network state
- App preferences
This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly enable cloud sync by signing in with Google.
Data collected via Google Sign-In (optional)
If you choose to sign in with Google to enable cloud save, we collect:
- Email address
- Display name
- Profile photo URL
- Unique user identifier (Firebase UID)
This data is used solely to identify your account so your game progress can be synced across devices via Firebase Firestore. None of it is ever shown to other players.
Friends (optional)
If you open the friends panel and choose a display name, that name is stored so other
signed-in players can search for you by name, and so your friends can see who sent them a
chest. We also store who your friends are, pending invitations in both directions, whom you
have blocked, and the daily chests waiting for you.
- Your display name is the only thing other players ever see. Your
email address, profile photo, and everything about your game — your map, your
buildings, your resources — stay private
- Other signed-in players can search for you by the first letters of your name, and a
search returns at most ten names at a time. Please treat a name you choose as
public: anyone signed in who looks for it can see it, and we cannot rule out that
someone patient pieces together the list of chosen names. What such a search
reveals is limited to those names and the date each one was chosen, never an email
address, a photo, or anything at all about a game
- The chest a friend sends carries no amount: what it contains is worked out on your
own device, from your own game
- You can remove a friend or block someone at any time, from the friends panel. A
blocked player can no longer invite you, and is not told
- Choosing a name is optional. Without one, you simply do not appear to anyone
Usage analytics
The app uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the game is played, so we can improve it. This is collected automatically, without any account, and includes:
- In-app events (screens opened, sessions, first launch, app updates)
- Device model, operating system version, and language
- Approximate location (country/region, derived from IP address — never precise location)
- Device and installation identifiers, including the Android advertising ID (AD_ID)
We use this only to measure how the game performs and where players get stuck. It is
never sold. Analytics is separate from the reward videos described below, which are handled
by Google AdMob.
Reward video advertising
The app uses Google AdMob to show reward videos. These are
the only ads in the game, and they are always started by you:
- There are no banners and no interstitials. Nothing opens on its own,
and no ad ever interrupts you
- A video plays only after you tap an offer that says what you will get in exchange
- Declining costs you nothing: every reward is a bonus on top of what the game already
gave you
When you watch one, AdMob may collect and process:
- The Android advertising ID (AD_ID) and other device and installation identifiers
- Device model, operating system version, and language
- Approximate location (country/region, derived from IP address — never precise location)
- Ad interactions (that a video was requested, shown, and watched to the end)
In the European Economic Area and the UK, Google's consent form is shown before the first
ad request, and your answer decides whether ads are personalised. You can change your mind at
any time from the in-game menu, under Settings. Ad data is handled by Google under its own
privacy policy, linked below.
Crash reporting
The app uses Firebase Crashlytics to report anonymous crash data when something goes wrong. This helps us fix bugs faster. Crash reports include:
- Stack trace of the crash
- Device model and Android version
- App version and build identifier
- Anonymous installation identifier (no personal information)
No personal data is included in crash reports.
Gameplay statistics (only while you are signed in)
While the game is being balanced, a signed-in player's app sends periodic gameplay statistics so we can see whether the difficulty curve is fair. Unlike the usage analytics above, this is tied to your account identifier, so we describe it separately. A sample contains:
- Totals for each resource: how much was produced, spent, and lost to full storage
- The date at which each Capital level was reached, and how many buildings of each type you own
- Your app version
- How smoothly the game ran for you: how long the session lasted, how much processor
time it used, and how many frames were drawn late
It contains no personal information, no map coordinates, and nothing you have typed. It is sent only if you are signed in, at most once an hour, plus once per Capital level.
Signing out stops it. A sample is only ever sent while you are signed in, and it is attached to your account identifier: sign out, and no further sample leaves your device. You can also ask us to delete the samples already collected, along with your account, at the contact address below.
Data Sharing
We do not sell or trade your personal data.
Data is only sent to Google services (Google AdMob, Google Analytics for Firebase, Firebase
Authentication, Firebase Firestore, Firebase Crashlytics) as described in this policy. Sign-in,
cloud save and gameplay statistics are sent only when you are signed in; analytics and crash
reporting run from first launch.
One exception is worth stating plainly: when you choose to watch a reward video,
the advertising identifier and the device information listed above are shared with Google
AdMob for advertising purposes, subject to the consent you gave. That is the only
data sharing with an advertising network, and it happens only when you start a video.
Third-Party Services
This app uses the following services:
- Google AdMob — For the optional reward videos (uses the Android advertising ID)
- Google User Messaging Platform — For the advertising consent form
- Google Analytics for Firebase — For usage analytics (uses the Android advertising ID)
- Firebase Authentication — For optional Google Sign-In
- Firebase Firestore — For optional cloud save and gameplay statistics (only if signed in)
- Firebase Crashlytics — For anonymous crash reporting
- Google Play Services — For authentication infrastructure (Credential Manager)
- Google Play Billing — For the optional in-app purchases (Google Play handles the payment; no payment detail reaches us)
These services have their own privacy policies:
Data Retention
- Local data: Remains on your device until you uninstall the app or use the in-app reset
- Cloud data (if signed in): Stored until you delete it or request deletion
- Analytics data: Retained by Google Analytics for Firebase for up to 14 months, then automatically deleted
- Crash reports: Retained by Firebase Crashlytics for up to 90 days, then automatically deleted
- Advertising data: Retained by Google AdMob under Google's own retention policy; we never receive or store it ourselves
- Gameplay statistics: Archived and removed from the server as we analyse them, and in any case deleted on request
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your data: Your game progress is visible in the app at all times
- Delete your local data: Use the "Reset" option in the menu to clear all local progress
- Delete your cloud data: If you signed in with Google, sign out and request deletion via the contact email below
- Change your advertising choices: Reopen Google's consent form from the in-game menu, under Settings
- Opt out of ad personalisation: Android lets you delete or reset your advertising ID, and opt out of ad personalisation, in Settings › Privacy › Ads
- Stop sending gameplay statistics: Sign out — samples are only sent while you are signed in
- Data portability: Cloud save lets you carry your progress across devices when signed in
To exercise these rights, use the in-app menu or contact us.
Children
This app is suitable for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal
information from children under 13 without parental consent. The app offers optional in-app
purchases, which go through Google Play and its own parental controls. It does show optional
reward videos, which are never started automatically and are subject to the consent form
described above.
